Today was one of those very rare days were I had time for myself. I’ve been very busy lately and have been neglecting my much loved hobby of running. It was above 75 degrees today, sunny, and I was ahead on my work and school work, so I got to run. I ran almost 9 miles today and was finally able to use my new water carrier, the Water Buffalo Road Runner Hydration Backpack!

I have been waiting for over a week to use this, my wife got it for me before it heats up around here. This thing is awesome! It has a 2-Liter water bladder, I didn’t fill it all the way and I had water for three hours after I finished running. Something I really like about this is the bladder comes with these Velcro straps to hold it in place in the pack, this made filling it easy and I had no spills (even with putting ice in). The bladder is zipped shut, with the tube sticking out the end that gets clipped into place on the shoulder strap.

There is also a Velcro’d storage area that sits on the outside of the pack. I personally used this to carry some snacks like pistachios, a few gummy worms, and my keys. It stores a surprising amount without being obvious and bulky. The part of the pack that touches your back has soft padding that really absorbs any movement and jumbling caused by trail running.

The bite valve is an easy valve that you pull on to unlock. Ultimately, this thing more than outperformed its duties for today’s run and will continue to do so for some time. With the material being all weather resistant and designed for long distance races, coupled with a lifetime guarantee, I foresee me using this bad boy for a really long time!
